Greetings loyal followers!
You’ll all be delighted to hear that I’m back in Dublin after a very busy trip to Waterford. I had lots to catch up on, I left Ted in charge of the house and I had to get a full report from him the minute I got home. It wasn’t good; chocolate rations were severely depleted and crisps had come and gone. I even missed out on pizza. Next time I’ll be staying at home with Daddy and Ted can go to Waterford, the food is way too healthy down there. All I had was a giant tin of Quality Street, not good enough.
While I was in Waterford, there was a really important golf competition on. It started before I was born between my grandad and the bold neighbours (Molly’s dad and a few other people). Sometimes my Daddy plays too but he had to work this time so I decided to concentrate all my efforts to make sure that my Grandad won. I do enjoy being sneaky!
I started by identifying the competition. I tracked them to their lair, that wasn’t too hard because I could see it from our window. Then I had to find a way in. I tried climbing in the letterbox but I got stuck. Then I had a brainwave. I needed an excuse to go to see Molly…I would bring her a present! I had a quick look around and I spotted some really nice flowers that Daddy bought for Mummy. She seemed really happy when she got them so I decided to take one to Molly. I picked the one that makes me sneeze, if you’re busy sneezing, you can’t hit a golf ball straight! So I managed to make Molly happy and still do something a bit naughty! I also managed to slip some sleepy powder into the bread that they would be eating for their breakfast and I even snuck into their cars to tie extra weights to their golf clubs. Molly kept watch in case I got caught.
I ended up missing the competition because it was on so early that I didn’t wake up in time. I don’t think it had anything to do with the fact that I brought the end of the sleepy powder to bed with me… I helped my Granny to make chocolate mousse instead, she even let me lick the bowl because I was being good ๐ After lunch (Quality Street and chocolate mousse) we got some great news. Grandad won the trophy!!! It was so exciting, I danced around the kitchen. I didn’t know what a trophy was but it seemed to be something that’s really good to have.
Later on, everyone came to our house for dinner and drinks. My Grandad and his friends were drinking beer from really cool mugs. And guess what? He had one for me too! It was brilliant, I put some soup in it, very tasty, and later I had fizzy orange ๐ I’m such a grown up! Here’s me with my mug.
After dinner, there was a prize giving ceremony. Grandad’s trophy turned out to be a piece of glass with writing on it. He was very happy with it and I have to admit, I was a bit jealous.
Then on Sunday we all had to help to clear out the attic. I thought it was going to be really boring but it turned out to be great fun. There was so much stuff and a lot of it was going into the bin so I was allowed to stamp all over it. I got to play with some cool things too. I found my Mummy’s tricycle that she had when she was my age. I tried it out but my legs aren’t long enough yet. Either I have to wait until I grow or I bribe Ted to come with me to work the pedals. The best thing though was something Mummy found. It’s a trophy that belonged to her grandad which must make it absolutely ancient! And she gave it to me!!! I now have my own trophy for being awesome ๐ Once it gets polished I’ll be able to stare at my face in it all day. Hurray!
