Balloons!

October is a big birthday month in our house. My Daddy had his birthday a few weeks ago. He said he’d be old when his birthday came, I thought it would be pretty cool to see him get old all in one second so I snuck out of bed at nearly midnight to watch. I even had my torch ready to switch on exactly at the right time. Nothing happened!!! He didn’t look different at all, it was so disappointing 🙁 And then I got given out to for waking people up by shining torches in their faces 🙁

We got Daddy some really great birthday presents. Ted and I put our pocket money together and we got loads of chocolate that we wrapped up for him. Mmm chocolate… It wasn’t easy to hand it over but I managed. The other part of the present was a birthday balloon. I never had a balloon before so I didn’t realise how useful they can be. First, you can blow at it and make it wave about in the air. Then you can get someone (let’s say your unsuspecting big brother) to stand underneath it while you pull on the string and make the balloon come down and hit them in the head. And best of all, you can tie things to it to see if they fly! It really worked, I made Monkey fly!!! It was great fun until he nearly flew right out the window. I nearly had no Monkey and no balloon! I’m dropping hints already that I’d like a balloon for my birthday, maybe with my face on it.

The next birthday this month will be Ted’s. He’s really excited about it, his birthday is on Halloween so Mummy said we can have a Halloween party for him. With pumpkins and chocolate and maybe even balloons 🙂
